Liberate Meditation
Meditation & Energy Work, Mental Health & Therapy, and Self-Care & Wellness
Liberate Meditation is a wellness platform created specifically for the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community. Founded by Julio Rivera, Liberate centers meditation practices that acknowledge racial trauma, generational healing, and the lived experiences of marginalized communities. You can explore the platform at https://liberatemeditation.com/.
While many meditation apps take a general approach, Liberate intentionally focuses on culturally responsive mindfulness. The app offers guided meditations, affirmations, breathwork sessions, and talks led by diverse teachers who understand how race, identity, and systemic stress impact mental health. Topics include microaggressions, grief, rest, self worth, boundaries, and collective healing.
For LGBTQ people of color, Liberate can feel especially powerful. It creates space for layered identities and honors the complexity of navigating both racism and queer or trans experiences. Meditation is not framed as avoidance, but as a tool for grounding, resilience, and self preservation in a world that often feels overwhelming.
Liberate offers both free and paid content, along with community features and live events. If you are seeking a meditation app that centers racial justice, emotional healing, and culturally affirming care, Liberate Meditation offers a thoughtful and accessible starting point.
