Point of Pride is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance and direct support to transgender and nonbinary people who cannot otherwise access gender-affirming care. Their programs address the reality that gender-affirming care is often financially out of reach, even when it is medically necessary, and that financial barriers cause real harm to trans people’s mental health, safety, and quality of life.
Point of Pride’s programs include an Annual Fund that provides financial grants for gender-affirming surgeries, an HRT Access Fund for trans people who need help affording hormone therapy, a free chest binder program that has distributed thousands of free binders to trans and nonbinary people globally, a free femme shapewear program, and support for electrolysis and hair removal. All programs are designed to reduce gatekeeping and center the self-determination of trans people.
Applications for their programs are open annually, and the organization is transparent about eligibility, timelines, and fund availability.
