Zebra Youth

Community & Support Groups

Zebra Youth is an Orlando-based nonprofit that supports LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 to 24 with affirming housing, mental health services, care coordination, and community programs designed to help young people find safety, stability, and hope. The organization says its mission is “empowering LGBTQ+ youth to thrive,” with programming built for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth and a strong focus on culturally appropriate support.

For queer youth in Central Florida, Zebra Youth offers more than one kind of help. Its services include youth care coordination, bridge housing and rapid rehousing, trauma-informed mental health counseling, a youth drop-in center, and meetups that create space for connection and belonging. Zebra Youth’s support model is designed to meet immediate needs while also helping young people work toward longer-term stability and self-sufficiency.

The organization’s mental health counseling program provides free, culturally appropriate therapy for at-risk LGBTQ+ youth ages 13 to 24, with therapists trained in LGBTQ+ competencies. Zebra Youth also offers family counseling when possible, helping youth and families move toward healing in a safe and affirming environment. For young people facing housing insecurity, its care coordination and housing services help connect them with support, advocacy, and housing stability.

Zebra Youth’s drop-in center on Mills Avenue in Orlando serves as a refuge for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth, offering practical support like meals, showers, laundry access, and connection to wraparound services. Its youth meetups also give young people a chance to socialize, celebrate milestones, and spend time with others who share similar experiences and identities. For LGBTQ+ youth in Orlando and across Central Florida, Zebra Youth is a vital local resource rooted in safety, dignity, and community care.
